ALEXANDRIA, Va.—From developing a holistic brand strategy to identifying points of differentiation for your brand, the NACS Advanced Category Management Certification program will level up your category management game. This year, NACS is offering the program as a pre-conference add-on (pre-registration is required).

“Attendees can earn their NACS Certified Convenience Advanced Category Management certification through the completion of this hands-on education session, scheduled for Oct. 5,” said Doug Spencer, director, NACS Solution Center. “We’re making this special pre-conference session available to both buyers and suppliers, with a maximum class size of 50.”

The six-hour interactive workshop is tailored for experienced category management and merchandising professionals in the convenience and fueling retailing channel. Attendees will learn how to:

  • Develop a holistic brand strategy
  • Identify points of brand differentiation
  • Integrate consumer shopping behavior
  • Create winning space and assortment strategies
  • Adopt price elasticity modeling
  • Utilize behavioral economic principles
  • Optimize pricing, promotions and overall profitability

Completion of the online NACS Certified Convenience Category Manager (CCCM) course prior to this event is strongly encouraged, as an understanding of basic category management principles are assumed during this advanced program.

“This program is designed to incorporate industry data in a collaborative work environment for maximum learning and retention,” Spencer said. “NACS has put a lot of thought and effort in to making these category management programs a valuable resource for our industry, including this pre-conference opportunity.”

The Advanced Category Management education session will run on Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $499 per person. To register, click here.
